During the season leading up to Easter, we invite you to - Read Together • Fast Together • Pray Together

Each of these is an opportunity and a resource for anyone in our church family to engage in during this time of reading, prayer, and fasting.

We lean into the story of Jesus by reading through the Gospels . . . Click here for Bible reading plan that takes you through the story of Jesus chronologically.  We’re going to read the gospels as a story with this plan! You’ll read all four gospels in 30 days, or 40 if you miss a day or ten :-).

The Bible Project - Matthew

Check out these short Bible project videos for a summary of each gospel:

The Bible Project - Mark

The Bible Project - Luke

The Bible Project - John

We also invite you to read “40 Days of Decrease” by Alicia Britt Chole

This is an excellent daily devotional with a short reading for each of the 40 days of Lent.

God seems more interested in what we are becoming than in what we are giving up.”

“Faith, in general, is less about the sacrifice of stuff and more about the surrender of our souls. Lent, in kind, is less about well-mannered denials and more about thinning our lives in order to thicken our communion with God. Decrease is holy only when its destination is love.
— Dr. Alicia Chloe

Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover them, and not to hide yourself from your own kin? Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; your vindicator shall go before you, the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry for help, and he will say, Here I am. If you remove the yoke from among you, the pointing of the finger, the speaking of evil, if you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness and your gloom be like the noonday.
— ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭58‬:‭6‬-‭10‬

Choose one of the fasts from the first four weeks, or ask the Holy Spirit if there’s something specific He wants you to fast the week leading up to Easter.
